  It takes a lot of GRIT to be  conscience of ones self and not change to suit other people's standards.  When that occurs all of society benefits.  Dr Temple Grandin is one such person. She has remained curious why her brain and its thinking processes are so different.  In spite of  her work with animals she has studied herself.  Every time there is a new technology that can answer the questions  she asks, is the first to volunteer to be tested. One such test was a special brain scan out of Walt Schneider's lab at the University of Pittsburg.   Her adamant curosity helped created a whole new  line of investigation on the brain.   Now society faces

a new time of enlightenment about people who are just different.   They can no longer  be seen as

less important, they are simply different.
